Cameron is a sweet nine-year-old who loves nothing more than playing computer games and going outside after it rains to look for rainbows. At birth, Cameron was extremely fragile and unable to feed on his own, so he was placed on a feeding tube for the first year of his life. After several months of testing and deliberation, his doctors diagnosed him with a genetic condition called Prader-Willi syndrome. This disorder affects growth, metabolism, muscle tone and behavior, and is characterized by an insatiable appetite. Cameron’s condition was so severe that his doctors did not expect him to live past his second birthday. He has since been additionally diagnosed with autism and is on a regimen of growth hormones and must be monitored daily to ensure that he does not overeat.
