OK - Looks like there’s a TON of Backstreet Boys fans here on Tumblr! Horray for 90’s, right!?

Anyway, we’ve got a couple of inspiring stories to share about this beloved boy band.

In 2001, during their Black & Blue Tour, the Backstreet Boys made one young admirer feel like “The Perfect Fan.” Kristi was 11 at the time and suffering from several illnesses including epilepsy, grand mal seizures, convulsions, ADHD, OCD, ODD, LD, and severe anxieties. To manage these conditions she relied heavily on medications and regularly underwent extensive neurological evaluations. When she found out she was eligible for a special wish-come-true, she didn’t hesitate at requesting to meet her idols, the Backstreet Boys – especially her crush, Nick Carter!

With the help of Kids Wish Network and Burger King (who sponsored the tour) Kristi was given the opportunity to meet the band AND see a show. It was no ordinary meet and greet session when the Backstreet Boys visited Kristi privately backstage. She was given their full and undivided attention. Kristi couldn’t hide her joy, and didn’t even try, as she kissed Nick on the cheek. The whole experience seemed “Larger than Life!”
